A Modest and meagre transalation of a Song in Thiruvasagam

Poovar Chenni Mannan…

Surrender to the King adored in flowers of love
Kindly allow this little self unite with thy lotus abode
Thou the Mercy Personified flooded us
With the ocean of love
Verily Thee, watch us unsheathe
the layers of falsehood

In thee, The Rivers of senses dare not evade!
In thy mercy, delivered the very thought of “want”!
In thy infinite universe, lies the place of this pity self toofor the want of the Holiest one’s grace let us persevere-
All our Heart and Soul, blood and being
Whilst not even slightest thought of doubt permeate!

I am my relative… I am my fate…
What am I? For that is MINE?
What MAGIC (MAYA) can cure this DELUSION (MAYA)?
Permit us the journey through the path
That is full of garlands of the ancient yore
The one who is the light of the inward eye!
Awaken us in light, Oh lord!

Deliver us from the grip of thy play
That whirls the whole in action!
Let me be the l(e)ast to attain thy feet
So that I can leave the last notes of thy praise
Let this body become the feed to the shrubs,
But the soul to the holy one’s silence!

This is the journey for the final Refuge,
Oh the Children of the joyful Shiva loga-
Where from rivers of hope of eternal solitude;
Flow and nourish-
The east, the west, north, and the south,
From pits to palaces!
In that hope, Verily assured we march ahead-
For Never the gates of Shiva loga closes for
The one who is devoted in the holiest one’s love
Let’s praise and hail, revere and persevere,
We are broken and melted in that moment of Absolute absorption!

The bliss of the golden lotuses of Master’s abode invites as ever
Into the absolute stillness abode amidst the ever moving universe

Where lays the Incomprehensible!
What words could praise or describe him after all?
Let not even one fall low in their desire or ascent
To achieve the lotus feet- hardest to attain
The most precious to possess!
